As the title would suggest we're looking outside the Premier League for some more weekend bets in this blog. I've been better in general at looking at foreign leagues and the Champions League rather than the Prem so far so this might well be the place to look for better tips! I think if you show an interest in other leagues around Europe then there is some good bets to be found due to the bookies naturall focusing on matters closer to home. With that in mind, let's have a little look...
German Bundesliga
Wolfsburg v Stuttgart, Saturday 1430
Schteve McClaren has started life as a manager in Germany with mixed results so far. His German is coming on strong, but the team is brilliant one week and absolute gash the next. Stuttgart are much more predictable, they're always gash! They are having their now traditional poor start to the season and have just parted company with Christian Gross as he was seemingly unable to turn things round. Now, normally the new man will go on a run and save the Swabians, but noone has been appointed yet. For this reason I fancy the VW boys to clean up. There are some very short prices on what I'd call similar games in Germany this weekend so Victor Chandler quotes of 2.2 on the home win look value to me.
Italian Serie A
Cesena v Sampdoria, Sunday 1400
This match sees a decent home side in Cesena coming up against some of the worst travellers in Serie A so far this year in Sampdoria. Samp have definitely got the players to be doing better, with Cassano and Pazzini among others at the club. But, for whatever reason, it doesn't click away from home. They have played 4 and drawn 4 away from home and I fancy that run to continue here. My money will be on the draw at a best priced 3.2 with Ladbrokes.
Spanish Primera Liga
Malaga v Sociedad, Sunday 1600
This match sees my favourite Spanish team so far this season at home to strugglers Sociedad. Malaga looked impressive even in defeat to Real Madrid a few weeks back and have a forward 3 that are always on the front foot and very pacy to boot. Sociedad are mid-table, but their away form sees only 1 point on their travels this term and they have also leaked goals. I think Malaga are good things in this match, I'm so confident I'm going to handicap them too! Bet365 go 3.1 with a -1.0 asian handicap and I think they'll oblige on that.
Athletic Bilbao v Getafe, Sunday 2000
The last match on Sunday sees Getafe travelling to Bilbao for what will likely be a battling match. Neither team are prolific scorers and both are also not exactly 1970 Brazil. I can see this match being decided late on by a single scrappy goal and I will therefore be playing under 2.5 goals at an appealing 1.96 with Ladbrokes. It is as short as 1.8 with other firms and I'd say that's a more accurate price.
French Ligue 1
Stade Brest v St Etienne
Whilst I would never recommend watching French football, except maybe as a cure for chronic insomnia, I will bet on it. The match that takes my fancy is the amusingly named Brest (boobies you see!?) up aginst St Etienne. Both sides are riding high in the table this year and what catches my eye is Brest's 3 home matches drawn from 4. Neither side are prolific, as none of France ever are, so I'd recommend getting on under 1.5 goals at a very reasonably priced 2.75 with Stan James.

We have now settled on a format to include a selection of Premier League games, some European matches and some musical recommendations. The musical recommendations are probably not the blogs best feature! If you would like me to include anything else or suggest changes then please get in touch via the Comments section.
