We have now settled on a format to include a selection of Premier League games, some European matches and some musical recommendations. The musical recommendations are probably not the blogs best feature! If you would like me to include anything else or suggest changes then please get in touch via the Comments section.

Only 4hrs 45mins punting time to kick off...

A very quick, last-minute set of tips for all you interested people. We have once again returned to the midweek European action and the warmth of UEFA's 'Champions League', da daaa da and all that. With this now getting to the business end of the qualifying groups, there are teams that can qualify, those that will be knocked out by a defeat and this should give us a little edge in some matches hopefully. Just a quick note to say that if anyone out there is a bit of a rock 'n' roll fan then I have recently discovered possibly my new favourite band ever. Couldn't be timed better with the Kings of Leon being dethroned by churning out chart friendly dross these days. If you're interested get on youtube or a similar site and search for The Hellacopters, my current favourite track is Sign Of The Octopus. After that un-necessary diversion let's take a look at this weeks best opportunities...

Auxerre v AC Milan, Tonight 1945
First up is a team on an upward curve meeting a team on a hell-for-leather fall. Auxerre live up to all stereotypes of a French club team, they are uninspiring, dull, goal-shy and just generally merde de chien. AC Milan have responded brilliantly of late now new manager Massimo Allegri has bedded in and discovered a system that works. They have recently gone top of Serie A and if they carry on the way they are look a sure thing to take the title for me. They also have one of my all-time favourite players in Pippo Inzaghi. Rarely has a man so poor at the basics of the game succeeded at such a level for such a sustained period. He is the playground goal-poacher we all were and I love him for it, and his unrelenting joy at scoring, even a tap in to make it 6-0. All this is leading to me forecasting an away win for the greasy pizza boys. I can't quite believe some of the prices available, they are 2.4 on Betfair and I think that's superb value.

Ajax v Real Madrid, Tonight 1945
My second tip is again from Group G and sees Jose's impressive Madrid team travelling to the land of legal cannabis and hookers for their game. Anyone that hasn't seen Luis Suarez bite on an opponent at the weekend should scour the net for it, very surreal. The match was against PSV and ended up a fairly boring 0-0 draw, save for the Uruguyan's amateur cannibalism. Madrid thumped a pretty decent Athletic Bilbao team 5-1 with Ronaldo again in on the goals. Just as a quick aside, Portugal currently has produced 3 of the most despicable men in football in Nani, Ronaldo and Jose. A finer selection of preening, cheating, attention-seeking twats you will not find. Just so you know. Anyway, Madrid can assure themselves top spot with a win and Jose will definitely want that so I would expect a strong team selection leading to an away win. Totesport currently have prices of 2.25 on the away victory and that's for me.

Tottenham v Werder Bremen, Wednesday 1945
Much as it pains me to say it, Spurs have become my match of choice most Champions League nights. This is mostly down to the complete lack of tactics Mr Melty Face employs, but it is working for them and is very entertaining. The comeback on Saturday against Arsenal owed more to the absolute dickheadery of Arsenal than a fantastic performance by Spurs, but all credit to them they took advantage. Rafa Van Der Vaart has been a brilliant addition to the Premier League as well as Spurs team, again credit to Redknapp for that. In all the furious cock stroking going on about Gareth Bale it is downplaying the fact that VDV can legitimately claim to be the best player in the whole league for me. To watch him dictating play is a rare sight in such a hurly burly competition, only Fabregas can currently match him. And Werder Bremen have Mikael Silvestre. This really is all you need to know about how good they are. They are in grave danger of getting dragged into a relegation fight in Germany and are unsuprisingly shipping goals by the bucketload. I would recommend handicapping Totteringhams entertainers for this one. Titanbet have Spurs at a frankly ridiculous 1.89 with a -1.0 hcap and they should easily cover that. If you don't have an account with them, and frankly, who does? Then head to Laddies for a -1.25 hcap at 2.0.

Inter Milan v Twente, Wednesday 1945
My final tip of this midweek is the match between the new look, and newly shit, Inter and Holland's Twente. To see what Mourinho brings to a team is easily demonstrated by the unbelievable fall in the team since Rafa Benitez took over at Inter. Previously brilliant and over-performing players are now looking truly terrible under the mis-management of such a horrible man. He seemingly has absolutely no people skills and this can be seen in the way he alienated most of the team and board at Liverpool by the end of his reign. They have now lost 2 games on the trot and to not that great sides either. Samuel Eto'o took out his frustration in the form of a running headbutt on ana opponent at the weekend, and he's nigh on the only one performing well! Twente have continued to stick around at the top of the Eredivisie after Schteve McClaren jumped ship to Germany. They score goals and also don't concede that many, a very successful base for any team. Stan James go 2.5 on Twente and the Draw in the Double Chance market and I think that's worth a tickle.
